Absolutely Loving GlitchBreaks! I wish there was a way to kindove make your own glitches. To better explain what I mean, I have an example of how it could work - not that i this is how it should be done, but just for the sake of explaining the idea... :)
There could be a single-axis chaos pad with lines and when you'd go past each line, it would glitch 2x as fast. So for example the first line could be a 1/4 note, then the next an 1/8, 1/16 and so on. This could be done using the Loop modulation, but you have to pin point it at the exact spot in the beat and then set the length of the glitch, which is hard to do after you already found the spot because you have to drag your finger straight down on the pad.
I just feel like with glitchbreaks right now it's sometimes hard to take and idea you have for a glitch in your head, and play it, and think this might make that easier...
Loving the app matt, really appreciate the work you put in!
I plan on this after MIDI, I want to make a dedicated Glitch editor, similar to the Cut editor. So you are suggesting maybe an automation capture of the glitch on a pad in a different screen? I have been trying to think of the best way to do this. If I do something similar to the cut editor for a glitch editor, it would take up the entire screen with little sequencer boxes to hit.
I was thinking more along the lines of a sort of list of events, with a control to add events, with timing, so I could add 10 512th notes, then 8 32nd notes, etc... to make the glitch sequence.
A glitch editor could be useful now that you mention it... and that could work- but I'd personally like to see a way to perform quantized glitches with out the need to open up a menu and program it in...
I've got another request ;-) The glitch pad feature where you can move your finger and adjust where in time the glitch takes place usually causes trouble more than the times i actually use it. If there was an option to turn that off, it would be a lot easier to glitch w/ out moving the position,
I'd love if that was possible, i just find myself accidentally moving my finger on the pad too easially and moving the spot of the glitch, but this is just my opinion...
The GB is one of my favorite iPhone/iPad app :) My first two wishes are here - for the next update:
1. On the mixer page now we can activate more tracks only with their volume slider button, but deactivate unwanted track (or some of them) can only by sliders down to zero. Would be very useful a MUTE/SOLO surface-part for the four track each. Somehow dividing of the four surfaces... 2. During the realtime multitrack playing would be nice if the newly loaded loop to any slots not soloed - allow play the others without interruption.
great suggestions, I will look into how I can squeeze 1. it into the UI, the biggest challenge is getting it to work for iPhone and iPad, as for 2. that should be easy, but I may need to make that an option.
